Famous soprano singer Zhang Liping and her students
The famous soprano Zhang Liping is the first Chinese singer to play leading roles at the Royal Opera House in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
She has starred in more than 20 operas at the Bavarian State Opera, the Berlin Opera in Germany, the Royal Opera House of Parma in Italy, the National Opera in Paris, the Barcelona Opera and the National Center for the Performing Arts in China, and has brilliantly interpreted "Madama Butterfly". Qiao Qiao Sang in "La Traviata", Violetta in "La Traviata", Mimi in "La Bohème" and Liu Er in "Turandot" and other roles.
In 2009, at the National Center for the Performing Arts' first opera festival, she starred in "Tosca" conducted by Lorin Maazel and in "Madama Butterfly" at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy, both of which were widely praised. In 2010, she recorded the theme song for the Chinese version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical Love Never Dies. In 2011 and 2013, he once again appeared on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera and starred in "Madama Butterfly" and "Turandot".
In 2008, EMI released Zhang Liping's first solo album "Arias" in the laser disc series globally. In 2014, she became the first Chinese classical singer to sign with Universal Music and released two albums under the Decca label. And in February 2018, the opera aria album "Verdi Aria" was released on the DG label.
Zhang Liping is currently the deputy dean of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), a professor of the Department of Vocal Music and Opera at the Central Conservatory of Music, and a doctoral supervisor. This time he was invited to hold the "To Art and Love" teacher-student concert in Hong Kong to present his teaching achievements in recent years. Performers include:
